Information Makeway Collects Directly:

When users create accounts or interact with the platform, Makeway may collect the following categories of personal information:

Identity information: includes name, email address, phone number, and account credentials.
Vehicle information: includes the user's full license plate number, vehicle year, make, and model.
Location data: includes GPS coordinates and location information when users grant permission through their device settings. Location data is used to generate contextual signals that assist with parking awareness, transaction verification, geofencing, and platform functionality.
Device and technical information: includes IP addresses, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers, collected for security, fraud prevention, and system optimization purposes.

Information Collected by Third Parties

Makeway does not collect, store, or have access to users' banking credentials, payment card numbers, or Social Security numbers. All financial and identity verification information required for wallet and payout functionality is submitted directly to Stripe, our third-party payment processor, through their embedded interface. Stripe's handling of user data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Users are encouraged to review Stripe's privacy practices at stripe.com/privacy.

Analytics Data

Makeway uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect usage data for platform performance and improvement purposes. Firebase may collect information such as app usage patterns, session duration, device information, and interaction data. This data is collected in aggregated and anonymized form where possible.

Information collected through the platform is used to operate, maintain, and improve the Service. Specific uses include enabling user authentication and account management, supporting the sharing of contextual parking signals between users, verifying transactions through geographic proximity and user confirmations, resolving disputes and enforcing account policies, improving platform reliability, detecting fraud, enhancing user experience, and analyzing platform performance and developing new features through Firebase Analytics.

Location information may be used to provide relevant contextual insights within the application and help users understand parking activity in their vicinity. Aggregated and anonymized data may also be used to analyze platform performance.

Makeway does not sell personal information to third parties. Certain information may be shared with trusted service providers that support the operation of the platform.

Stripe serves as Makeway's third-party payment processor for wallet and payout functionality. Firebase Analytics (Google) serves as Makeway's analytics platform for usage tracking and platform improvement. Additional cloud infrastructure providers and fraud prevention services may receive limited information as necessary to support platform operations.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or government request.

Makeway does not sell personal information to third parties. Makeway does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

Users have the right to direct Makeway not to sell or share their personal information. Although Makeway does not currently engage in such practices, users may submit opt-out requests at any time by contacting legal@makeway.net.

Makeway uses Firebase Analytics (Google) for usage tracking and platform improvement. Firebase may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar tracking technologies to collect usage data including app interactions, session duration, and device information.

Users can manage tracking preferences through their device settings. Disabling certain tracking features may affect the functionality of the Service.

Makeway collects users' full license plate numbers for account verification, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution purposes. Full license plate information is stored securely on Makeway's backend systems with encryption and access controls.

Only the last three digits of a user's license plate are displayed to other users, alongside the user's first name and vehicle year, make, and model. This limited disclosure is designed to facilitate transaction identification while minimizing personal data exposure.

Full license plate data is accessible only to authorized Makeway personnel for investigation, verification, and dispute resolution purposes.

Makeway implements industry-standard security measures including encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews to protect personal information, including license plate data. Access to sensitive information is restricted to authorized personnel only.

Despite these measures, users acknowledge that no digital system can guarantee absolute security. Users are encouraged to protect their own account credentials and report any suspected unauthorized access immediately.

In the event of a confirmed data breach involving personal information, Makeway will notify affected users without unreasonable delay via email or in-app notification. Makeway will cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities as required by applicable law.

Makeway will provide affected users with information about the nature of the breach, the categories of data involved, and recommended steps to protect themselves, to the extent such information is available at the time of notification.

Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to operate the platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce platform policies.

License plate data and transaction history are retained for dispute resolution and fraud prevention purposes for a reasonable period following account closure. Wallet transaction records are retained as required for financial record-keeping purposes.

Information that is no longer required may be securely deleted or anonymized.

Users may request access to their personal information, request corrections to inaccurate data, or request deletion of their accounts by contacting MAKE WAY LLC.Requests may be submitted to legal@makeway.net.

Makeway will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable law.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Makeway currently operates only in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, if users are located in jurisdictions with specific privacy rights, such as California under the CCPA or the European Union under GDPR, those rights apply where required by applicable law, even though Makeway currently operates only in New Jersey.

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in platform functionality, regulatory requirements, or operational practices. Updated versions will be posted on the website and within the application.

Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
